Application Development and Technology Tools Research Proposal
Application Development and Technology Tools - Research Proposal Example Analysis of the systems - the project team will set criteria for a new application, we would define a set of common questions that will be asked of all partners with respective answers we're looking for that applies to our environment. This will help solidify what parents will move onto the next round. The project team will start researching partners for the application, in this round we are looking to narrow down the first selection of partners with the initial phone interview. We will narrow down the vendor selection to four, it is our intention to set up demos with the remaining partners with respective stakeholders and project sponsors. When this is been completed we will recommend the appropriate phone application. Phase 2: Planning and Development- the project team will start setting up interviews and surveys with various stakeholders for a detailed analysis of current business processes. We'll take the current business process and translate that into a workable document for development team and mobile phone application partners. The document will be a roadmap for the app. We will create a series of flowcharts that relates to all the business processes in each of the stakeholders. This documentation will be used in phase 3 of the implementation of the mobile app. The project management team will coordinate with the infrastructure team to create a common database that is used by all stakeholders so that all information is available. Phase 3: Implementation-the project team will define showstoppers for project rollbacks. Criteria will be put in place to address what a showstopper is. This will be helpful if there is a need to roll the project back to phase 2. The project management team will define the first pilot group, when defining this we need to make sure that all users in the pilot group are fully aware of the anticipated start date. We will also let the pilot group know about the test procedures that will be implemented in phase 4. However, before the implementation is rolled out to the pilot group the developers will be tasked in phase 4 to do the initial testing.

Environmental Pollution Essay Example for Free
Environmental Pollution Essay Environmental pollution is the biggest menace to the human race on this planet today. It means adding impurity to environment. The environment consists of earth, water, air, plants and animals. If we pollute them, then the existence of man and nature will be hampered. It is true that trees are being cut down rapidly. Our earth is becoming warmer. If pollution continues, the day is not far when our earth will be a boiling pan and become a desert. Or it will be covered with sea water causing destruction of mankind. Pure air is always needed for inhaling. If we take pure air, our health improves. On the other hand impure air causes diseases and impairs our health and causes our death. Smoke pollutes the air. It is the root of air pollution. The smoke which is discharged from industries, automobiles and kitchens is the mixture of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane etc. These are all poisonous gases. These cause lung-cancer, tuberculosis etc. which take a heavy toll of life. The glaring incident is the Bhopal gas leak in December 1984. Thousands of the residents of Bhopal died due to lungs problem which was caused by methylamine gas from the Union Carbide Plant. The garbage emitting foul smell, the decaying plants and animals also cause air pollution. Hence the doctors advise the patients having lungs trouble to settle in some rural places because the air of villages is pure and free from population. Then comes sound pollution. The harsh sounds of buses, its, mopeds etc. affect our power of hearing and causes fart trouble. It has been reported that there are two villages named Biraspalli and Devadas Palli near Dum Dum airport m Calcutta where a large number of people have lost their power of hearing. This is because of the frequent sounds of planes coming in and going out of Dum Dum Airport. The evils of sound pollution can be imagined from this example. The water of rivers and seas is being constantly polluted all over the world by various dangerous chemical and biological wastes. Mills and factories discharge very harmful waste waters into many rivers and sea. The water of the Ganges flowing by the side of both Varanashi and Calcutta is extremely polluted and contains all sorts of dangerous bacteria. It is really very strange and laughable that large number of the Indians regard this water as holy. They even drink this water for salvation. There is no doubt that the fish that grow in such waters are poisonous too. Reckless application of chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides pollutes the soil. Vegetables and fruits are quite injurious today, because they contain the poison of insecticides and pesticides. If the air we breathe, the water we drink and the soil which produces our crops, vegetables and fruits, all become more and more impure, then our chances of good health and longevity will be very less and less. Environment pollution is a serious menace to our existence. Realising the danger, we must plant trees in large number to absorb impure air. Impure water from industries can be sent back for purification and then it can be used for irrigation purpose. Our government is well aware of the fact and is taking steps to save environment from pollution. We have also I minister to look after the environment.

Point of View in Amy Tanââ¬â¢s Short Story, Two Kinds Essay -- Two Kinds, A
Point of View in Amy Tanââ¬â¢s Short Story, Two Kinds In her short story "Two Kinds," Amy Tan utilizes the daughter's point of view to share a mother's attempts to control her daughter's hopes and dreams, providing a further understanding of how their relationship sours. The daughter has grown into a young woman and is telling the story of her coming of age in a family that had emigrated from China. In particular, she tells that her mother's attempted parental guidance was dominated by foolish hopes and dreams. This double perspective allows both the naivety of a young girl trying to identify herself and the hindsight and judgment of a mature woman. "Two Kinds" is a powerful example of differing personalities causing struggles between parent and child. In every parent-child relationship, there are occurrences in which the parent places expectations on the child. Some children fall victim to a parent trying too hard or placing expectations too high, or, in the case of "Two Kinds," a parent trying to live her life through that of her child. However, the mother is also a victim in that she succumbs to her own foolish dream that "you could be anything you wanted to be in America." Knowing that her own time has passed, she wants her daughter to succeed by any means necessary, but she never stops to think of what her daughter might want. She strictly adheres to her plan, and her overbearing parenting only leaves the daughter with feelings of disapproval and questions of self-worth. The mother does not realize the controversy that she creates, and she cannot understand that her actions could be wrong. She also does not realize tha t she is hurting not only her daughter, but also the relationship that should bind the two of them ... ...by the wrong person. Only after the death of her mother can she let her guilt override her pride. Only after the death of her mother, when she can act on her own accord and not please her mother, does she truly play the piano. Their conflict has gone unsolved, and the mother has died believing that she was a failure as a parent. Throughout the daughter's childhood, both are trapped in their own selfish illusions. Their personalities clash, and neither is willing to compromise. It is unfortunate that neither can realize the extent to which they have damaged themselves individually and jointly. They are fundamentally the same, but, blinded by tenacity, neither realizes that "they are two halves of the same song." Works Cited Tan, Amy. "Two Kinds". Negative Effects of Tv on Family Life
Negative Effects of TV The television has many effects on family life and the individual, causing family bonds to unravel and the individual to become naive of their surroundings. The TV keeps one hooked for hours on end, causing family relationships to diminish and personal relationships to weaken. Not only does the TV seem to be a good alternative to conversations and interactions amongst one another, but it also helps to create a gap between the fictional world of TV and reality.Since the invention of the home television, it has become a crucial part in everyday household life. Children spend less time with family, because it is simply easier to sit down and be entertained by the TV. â⬠The time spent next to it [the TV] exceeds the amount of time spent together with any other family member. â⬠(Wattermann) Watching TV has a major effect on the way a child communicates with other family members and friends, distancing them from real-world situations and problems. Parents spend long hours working and want an effective suppressant for their children. Contemporary parents work a lot, but when they come back home they are not eager to spend time with their childâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Wattermann) Even adults fall into the attraction of taking themselves out of their childsââ¬â¢ life, in order to relax or gain the free time they long desire. The effect the TV has on the family has been negative in comparison to the original intention of bringing the TV into the home, back in the 1940s. The depiction of the family watching TV together has changed, and now with multiply TVs present in a home, the separation and disfunction of the family has increased.TV also has a negative effect on the individual, because it takes away from potential relationships and also promotes bad behavior and aggressions as seen on violent television shows. What is being watched on television has the potential to influencing negative behavior, within the child or even adult. In an articl e from the AAP or the American Association of Pediatrics, it was noted that, ââ¬Å"Extensive research evidence indicates that media violence can contribute to aggressive behavior, desensitization to violence, nightmares, and fear of being harmed. â⬠(Pediatrics Vol. 108 No. ) The violence seen on TV, can lead to violent acts later on. Individuals are affected by what they see on TV and can be influenced by the suggestive nature that is described in almost every TV program. ââ¬Å"Even in G-rated, animated movies and DVDs, violence is commonâ⬠(Boyse, RN). The TV violence has an effect on people and children of all ages, and even though some programs are educational and beneficial for the development and growth of the child, there are so many other programs going on at the same time that contradict the idea of ââ¬Å"good TVâ⬠. Television watching also has a major impact on the self-image one has of themself. The TV paints a false image of what the normal and accepted person should look like. The person watching, therefore gets sucked into the mindset that they have to be like the well-toned models seen on tv, this creates many different problems. Insecurities within the individual flourish and they are constantly bombarded with images of how they should be, in order to fit into todayââ¬â¢s society. While watching constant images of healthy women and men makes some people immediately jump off the couch and start their ââ¬Å"cardio routineâ⬠some sit back and envy what they simply will never have.Ironically, this leads to eating disorders and obesity. ââ¬Å"People, who spend hours and hours in front of the TV sets, are under very high risk of becoming overweight and obese. â⬠(API Heathline) Either way, false advertisement of the way someone should be perceived has a negative effect on the viewer. In general, the content on TV impacts who were are and who we want to become in order to fit into society. Another factor involved in tel evision watching, is the amount and the persistence of commercials.Commercials make up a majority of television air time, trying to influence people to spend time and resources on products and new inventions that will make you better fit into society. For example, food commercials are constantly influencing people to make new recipes or to go to the newest most delicious restaurant in town. Other commercials such as the shopping channel become appealing to the older audience who are alone and constantly craving new things. This leads to hording and other disorders, including the addiction of television watching in itself.Commercials and news articles also persuade people in terms of politics, economic issues, and social influences therefore inducting the one-way nature of the viewers. If people constantly go to the TV for current updates on news and other current events then it deters the need to communicate with one another and create the social relationships needed to have a cohes ive balance in life. Another problem that arises with TV is the effect it has on one psychologically. Kids spend many hours in front of the TV, especially over long periods of isolation. Some adults can argue that the constant atching of television is the beginning of a new age of addiction. ââ¬Å"Studies about negative effects of television addiction show the TV addictsââ¬â¢ people through its tranquilizing numbing affect, causing them to relax, become drowsy, and then desire to watch more TV. â⬠(Parenting-Healthy-Children) Watching TV seems to have the same effects that habit- forming narcotics have on the individual. When watching hours upon hours of TV, one is quickly relaxed and put into a state of obliviousness to the outside world, therefore having similar effects of mind altering drugs.TV watching has many effects on the viewer and can lead to many social and personal problems. Family relationships, individual self- consciousness, and violent/ inappropriate subject matter all lead to the conclusion that too much television can be harmful to our society. TV is readily available to every one of all ages, and the majority of the material is geared toward a more mature audience. Over time, TV has changed dramatically from mostly family-oriented TV programs to programs geared to different age groups, in order to attract different audiences. Essay on Depreciation Methods
Memorandum To: From: Subject: Depreciation Value of your Special Purpose Machine Date: Congratulations on your purchase of this special purpose machine. With every purchase of a new machinery comes the depreciation value of the machine. In order to report the value of this machine, we first must figure out the total amount paid for your machine. It says here you purchased the machine for an invoice price of $1,200,000 and the freight cost was $6000 and the cost for installation was $64000.We would add all that up and get a total machine cost of $1,270,000. There are 3 types of depreciation methods we can use to figure out the annual depreciation value of your machine: Straight Line Method, Units of productions Method, and Double Declining Method. The Straight Line Method is plain and simple. This will tell us what to report at the end of every year for the depreciation value of your machine. First we would take the cost of the machine minus the salvage value divided by the useful lif e of the machine.I believe the salvage value would be the use of the machine in that year. For example: the total cost of machine is 1270000-200000/5=214000: 200000 would be the salvage life and 5 would be the useful life of the machine and 214000 would be our depreciation value for the year. So after the first year of use the book value of the machine would be 1270000-214000=1056000. Every year we would subtract 214000 from the previous book value. The Units of Productions Method is a little more complicated. This will tell us the estimate depreciation value of the machine. First we would take the cost of the machine minus estimated salvage value divided by the predicted units of production that your machine would produce and we would get a cost per unit (depreciable). After we get the cost per unit (CPU), we would multiply it by the units produced in the period and we will get the depreciation for the period, also in the last year of the useful life of the machinery we would deprec iate to the estimated salvage value and never depreciate below the value. For example: the cost of the machine is 1270000 minus the salvage 200000 divided by the expected units that your machine would produce in its useful life which is 1000000. 1270000-200000/1000000 = $1. 07 per unit, this would be the cost per unit. Letââ¬â¢s say your machine will produce 200000 in its first year, so we would take the depreciation per unit multiply the number of units produced in the period, 1. 07Ãâ"200000=214000. 214000 would be the depreciation expense for the first year and we would minus that from the beginning book value of the machine. If the machine produced 250000 the next year, we would go thru the same process again but this time we would subtract the depreciation value from the previous year book value and not the beginning book value. The Double Declining Method is the last method we would use to figure of the depreciation value of the machine. First we need to figure the straight- line rate and in order to do that we need the percent life of the machine and the useful life of the machine. We would divide each other and come up with the Straight-line rate. For example: 100% divided by 5 years equals 20% that the machine would depreciate very year if we should the straight-line rate. Second step we would double that rate, 20% x 2 = 40%. 40% would be the double declining balance rate (ddb). The final step we take the double declining balance rate multiply by the beginning period book value. For example: 40%x1270000=508000. 08000 would be the first year depreciation expense. The book value at the end of the first year would be 1270000-580000=762000. The next year we would take 40% of 762000 and come up with the depreciation expense for that year. In its final year of useful life the machine would never depreciate below the estimated salvage value and we would just have to adjust our books. Mr. Abella, now you know how to depreciate the value of your machine. Once again I congratulate you on your purchase.

Important Federal Agencies
Important Federal Agencies Free Online Research Papers In my opinion the three most important law enforcement agencies are our local law enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Every law enforcement agency plays a huge role and has its importance, but these three are the most important to me. My number one most important agency is the Department of Homeland Security. Our country means so much to the citizens of the United States and making sure it is protected from outside threats. DHS is a new cabinet-level department designed to coordinate federal efforts to protect the United States against domestic and international terrorism. This agency, combined with other agencies protects our borders and customs, transportations and airways. My number two important agency is our local law enforcement agencies. They protect and serve the citizens in our local community and they patrol our streets to help keep citizens safe from criminals. They can also be a positive influence on our communities and our citizens. Having local law enforcement helps to keep the crime controlled in that particular area. My number three important agency is the Federal Bureau of Investigations. The FBI is the primary agency responsible for the enforcement of all federal laws. They investigate crimes that are against federal law, but they are not a police force. The FBI is always there to help state and local agencies investigate crimes and the FBI is known to have the best labs available. These three agencies are so important because they protect the United States, international or domestic and without these agencies we would have to fend for ourselves individually and that could be disastrous. All law enforcement has their importance and responsibility to protect and serve.
