As clasp went on she discovered that she delighted in these children much more than the others. it was all the more sweet. So since we have broken the ice so to talk would you be able to state me what a portion of the employments related with estimating the children with ID might be? Tornetta solicited me which bunch from children would I wish to talk. the socially assorted. sexual orientation specific. the mental these are all sort of ID kids and various kinds of evaluations. so where might you want to get down? I believed that it would be best for her to state me about the most hard one and she pick socially various understudies. Ms. Clark expresses that when covering with the minorities there are additional beds of multifaceted nature to see especially if the child is of another ethnicity than the person that is making the evaluation. Ms. Clark other than states that she likes to make the greater part of her evaluations on her ain simply on the grounds that she has been making this for a long clasp and that she has worked with a few unique ethnicities. Having worked with the various ethnicities I have the upper manus and a child can encounter when they are comprehended or when individual is appeasing them. In my numerous mature ages of learning I have other than understood that children can encounter when individual really gets them and considerations. In my schoolroom we start the forenoon off by expressing great forenoon to everybody by name thus we each can stay one thing that happened last dim or throughout the end of the week or just something that they may want to parcel each child gets two proceedingss and we have a clock to ensure everybody procure decision cut. This is other than something that works great on their cultural achievements. Presently every piece far as the evaluation on the mental side the vast majority of these preliminary and examinations are done in the facility or with the healer. presently there have been a crossroads or two where I have sat in and I have even directed the evaluation. Anyway similar employments despite everything exist these preliminary interest to be custom fitted to each child and they are non they are standard which in my assumption is wretched each child is distinctive so each child ought to be tried something else. Presently I got some information about sex explicit demonstrating yet I have just stumbled into that twice in my numerous mature ages of guidance. all things considered it does be and as teachers we should have the option to cover with it and go on to tech and keep our classes. There are or possibly it used to be a few educators that were homophobic and imagined that school is no topographic point for a child’s sexual affinity to come out or even to be talked about. Presently in the schools we see it ordinary young men keeping authorities with other male childs and misss making the equivalent so consequently it must be tended to. it can non be slid under the carpet any more. This is something that as instructors we other than should have the option to cover with especially in our SED classifications. these kid need progressively detached medications with the goal that they do encounter that they are being incorporated. Our children have a tendency to procure singled out thus they wind up feeling as though no 1 gets them and they start to think about implosion. as teachers it is our occupation to make our best to demoralize those kinds of emotions and to elevate a child to be consistent with who they think they are and to non judge others for being unique. We endeavored to get back to the meeting with on last request and that was. what are the highlights of the teacher’s understudies with ID that result in qualification for specific guidance? Ms. Clark educated that the mass regarding the understudies that experience a demonstrating do non secure into a specific guidance plan. Anyway there are justification for that in certain occasions it is on the grounds that the guardians do non constrain and keep up with the assignments each piece great as finish what they have to make each piece far as data that might be expected to procure a child into an arrangement and doctors’ assignments. the letter’s from the doctor’s. There are a wide range of grounds thus there are explicit plans that a few guardians would wish to see their child in. however, there is a holding up rundown or there is another arrangement that is similar yet the parent is disinclined. Other than some parent’s may non want their child marked as a specific guidance understudy so they are trying to claim ignorance. What's more, last however non in case so there are the region schools that are full and there are no prohibitions to be made so the child can stay with their kin. this other than goes into the travel realm of the occupations as great. a few regions offer travel to kids however on the off chance that there are kin they can non have travel so guardians do non want their children isolated and that is undrstandbale in many cases. Clark discloses to me that she feels that on the off chance that one child goes to the school in the specific guidance plan so the kin ought to go to that school each piece great and they ought to have travel as great. This would almost certainly keep up down a portion of the disarray on the coachs in any case. especially if there is a more seasoned kin that can keep an eye out for the more youthful 1s. This is the means by which we were raised the most established at any point paid special mind to the more youthful 1s and verified that everybody was home safe when mama and dad got in from work. I feel that we have to obtain back to the motto that it takes a modest community to bring up a child and on the off chance that we did so the educational system and the networks would be a superior topographic point. In the wake of talking with Ms. Clark I pondered how I brought up my children and she was correct when she said that it takes an unassuming community to bring up a child. I was an individual parent for a few mature ages and I had six children two were in the specific guidance plan at the region school. I took them to class and my female parent got them from school. The neighbor watched them as they would come in the house and have nibble a beginning their prep until I got place from work. I did likewise for her on the ends of the week when she worked and she other than had a child that was specific requests and we made it work if the school called and I couldn't travel she would travel and fragility versa. The fact is that as guardians and teachers we have to cooperate to permit our youngster realize that they are cherished and that they are making a trip to be taken consideration of non only in the schools yet at place each piece great. Continental Drift The Quest For the Lost American Dream - Literature Essay Samples

The American Dream, once a noble ideal of freedom and individualism, has been replaced by a ruthless game for money, at the expense of freedom and morality. In his novel Continental Drift, Russell Banks highlights the interplay of money and freedom in his characters lives to highlight this substitution.Banks starts the story of Bobs journey for freedom with a need for money. Money is seen as the central component for freedom here. Bob is a man who lives in a working class-neighborhood in a community where theres never enough money, the men and the women tend to feel angry towards one another much of the time, especially in the evenings when the work is done and the children are sleeping and nothing seems to be improved over yesterday(5). Here, Banks reveals the circumstances surrounding his protagonist; an environment in which happiness and freedom are diminished by poverty. Upon experiencing his first epiphany, or what he calls a nervous breakdown Bob keeps referring to his familys need for money as being dead. The idea that he actually doesnt want to be taken off his overtime at work so he can handle the mortgage next month is being dead. Not affording paint, storm windows and oil to burn for his house and owing money on his car and his boat: all that is being dead. When he revisits his childhood dream of becoming successful, Bob tells his wife he used to say well make a killing.' A figure of speech used frequently throughout the book, it addresses the theme of power and its attainment. It is also the readers first clue to the tragic events that Bob experiences in his delusional pursuance of the American Dream. Right from the beginning, Banks introduced the connection between money, power and freedom, though at this point it is still undefined. When Bob reaches Florida, money becomes a significant feature of the novel and the words making a killing take on much deeper meaning. The readers are introduced to Bobs brother, Eddie, a man who has a new house on t he lake in Florida, a new boat, a successful business, and sends his kid to horseback lessons(31); he is the epitome of the American Dream. In one passage, Eddie reveals his guiding light, philosophy of life religion, which is money is what makes the world go round(73/4). Yet, Eddie is a man who has real problems as he reveals to his brother later on in the novel. His shady dealings were great sources of wealth as well as inescapable fear; a fear that placed him under constant pressure to make more and more money. The first demand that Eddie makes of his brother upon offering him a job is to take a gun to protect the money that will be earned in his liquor store. Bob explains his reluctance to take the gun from his brother by saying that he doesnt even like hunting. Banks then explains that Bob is a fisherman not a hunter(68). The meaning of this metaphor is vital in understanding Bob and subsequent events in the novel; it is also of grave implication on the essence of the America n Dream. Even though Bob claims not to be a hunter, he still wants to make a killing; this literary paradox is represented throughout the novel in a series of events in which Bob, who tries to assume a role not fit for him, loses his goodness. The first of those events is when he sees the man who tried to steal the money from the liquor store and kills him. Although Bob had earlier defended his decision of not killing the boy when he had the chance, all of a sudden he was possessed with a ruthless bloodthirsty need to shoot the boy. He wanted to release all that frustration, anger and confusion into this single act that seemed irresistible to him to become the hunter. Failing to satisfy his desire, Bob explains his behavior to his lover Marguirite, saying that having not killed the boy when he had the chance the first time, he ended up looking like he dont (sic) have any brains, or else too much decency, which amounts to the same thing nowadays. Thus, he wanted to kill the boy. Bo b has succumbed to the twentieth centurys version of the American Dream. It is true though that Bob Dubois does partially recover from this world of ruthless existence, and quits his job at the liquor store. Nevertheless, Bob is not happy, not free, for he has a wife and children to support and yet no source of income. He has recovered merely a facade of the dutiful, prudent, custodial, and even-tempered husband and father; his true underlying self, a feckless, reckless, irresponsible, faithless and irrational man. At this point in Bobs life, and in the midst of his desperation, Avery Boone, his childhood best friend, appears offering a partnership that will save Bobs life and more importantly make him rich, ironically by becoming a fisherman. Unfortunately, the reality that Bob and his family face is far from that. In fact Bob and his family end up with less money than they had before; resentment, anger and frustration replace the love that was between his wife and himself. For in Florida, one cannot be a fisherman, to survive one must make a killing. Bob asked Ave for help and found that his best friend had his own problems, much as Eddie did earlier in the novel. This is when Bob reached rock bottom and realized that he had lost everything. There was a life, and because it was under his control, it was his life; and then he traded a big part of that life for one with more promises and less control.then he made another trade, giving away control for promises again, property for dreams, each step of the way, until hes ended up tonight with nothing but promises, dreams and fantasies left to trade with. And no takers(313/14).Bob decides to take on the offer of smuggling Haitians, and this is truly when Bob, the New Hampshire country boy, loses his goodness. Towards the end, Banks makes the destructiveness of money more clear. In a key passage in the novel, when Bob is aboard the Belinda Blue with the Haitians, Bob stands next to Claude, a Haitian, who eagerly a waits his arrival in America. Bob looks at the boy as though looking at a reflection of his own long lost innocence and at this moment reveals the real American Dream. Youll get to America, all right kid, he says to Claude and maybe just like me youll get what you wantBut youll have to give something away for it And when you get what you want, itll turn out to be not what you wanted after all, because itll always be worth less than what you gave away for it. Bob then summarizes the relationship of money and freedom in a single statement, in the land of the free, nothings free. This statement, the prelude to Bobs own tragic ending, explains why Bob had to die, because like Eddie and Ave, Bob had to pay for the money that he acquired at the expense of others. When the Haitians aboard the Belinda Blue all drown except for one woman drowned in a human tragedy, Bob knew that this was the end of his journey. The journey which was once led by the illusion that he will be rich, happy and f ree. The result was that he lost any dignity and even peace of mind that he had possessed; he also lost the little control he had which had made his life his own. Finally realizing that the money was destroying his life, he tries to release himself from its hold on him, to redeem himself and perhaps start over with his wife and children again. In New Hampshire he knows he can live peacefully, where he can earn an honest living, one that doesnt cost others lives; where he can be a fisherman. In this final attempt, Bob takes the money that he had acquired from smuggling the Haitians, and, trying to rid himself of the shame and sin, he goes to a little Haitian town where he tries to find Vanise, the sole Haitian survivor. Bob believes that giving the money to its due owner is the only way that he will be able to reclaim his soul, his conscience and his life; it is his only and last chance to purge himself of the consequences of his crime. Thus, when Vanise denies him this chance by ref using to take the money, she kills him just like he killed her son, her nephew and all those other Haitians who were aboard the ship. Bob then is stabbed to death protecting the money against four Haitians muggers. In a final, helpless cry No the money is mine Bob declares that if he has been denied his redemption then he is still not willing to let go of his American Dream. The hunter falls prey to his own game.Continental Drift is a story about a man who had a dream that he will be successful and make it in the world. Unfortunately, in his quest for that dream, Bob stumbles over a world void of inspiration, and driven by a ruthless desire for money at the cost of dehumanization. Here Bob, like many others before him, is forced to leave his childhood dreams behind and forfeit the few possessions which he had taken for granted.

Should Abortion Be Legal - 1250 Words

Abortion is controversial in the United States; it seems impossible to have any accord or compromise on this topic because the views regarding it are so widely divergent. These views are based on whether people decide that priority should be given to treating women as rational beings and allowing them the autonomy to get an abortion or to enabling the development of a fetus. I believe that priority should be given to providing women with complete autonomy, but there are those who disagree, and act paternalistically toward women to ensure that a fetus fully develops. The personhood of a fetus is an important determinant of what should be prioritized in the discussion about abortion. Some people regard the fetus as being a person because†¦show more content†¦Roman Catholic Natural law ethicists are unwaveringly opposed to abortion. They believe that all human beings have innate rights that should never be taken away from them. Since Roman Catholic Natural Law ethicists view f etuses as being people, they say that the rights of these fetuses should be recognized and that the refusal to recognize them is unethical. Consequently, Roman Catholic Natural Law ethicists believe that because abortions hinder the development of a fetus, they are unethical and should not be allowed, regardless of any restrictions of the autonomy of women. I disagree with Roman Catholic Natural Law ethicists. In my opinion, fetuses are not people, accordingly, they do not have rights, and abortion is not unethical. Moreover, I believe that the self-determination of a human being should be recognized in all situations, so prioritizing the development of a fetus over the autonomy of a woman is wrong. Telling a pregnant woman that she must give birth is appallingly paternalistic, and I do not believe that it is ethical. The body of a woman is her own, and when a person says that she is not allowed to terminate a pregnancy, that person is restricting her control over what belongs to her. They are disregarding her circumstances in favor of allowing a fetus to develop and I believe that this is wrong. Additionally, requiring that pregnant women give birthShow MoreRelatedAbortion Should Not Be Legal1647 Words   |  7 PagesOne of the most highly debated topics is abortion and whether or not it should be legal. Obedience to Authority Essay - 1816 Words

Authority cannot exist without obedience. Society is built on this small, but important concept. Without authority and its required obedience, there would only be anarchy and chaos. But how much is too much, or too little? There is a fine line between following blindly and irrational refusal to obey those in a meaningful position of authority. Obedience to authority is a real and powerful force that should be understood and respected in order to handle each situation in the best possible manner. To best understand how much pressure and stress can be caused by someone with authority, allow me to recount a personal experience. Sweating, I stood at attention in front of the flight Captain and my training instructor Staff Sergeant Garr. I†¦show more content†¦I said I would gladly take the test to get an accurate reading, but his response was that I was not being truthful about my experience. I assured him I was not fabricating the story. He decided to investigate further, so he took me into the flight Captains office, the place where I would feel the extensive and powerful force of obedience. I was made to stand at attention, a brand new Airman Basic, the lowest possible rank in the Air Force, in front of my Captain. The Captain asked if I had done the X-Factor, I replied I had not. To my surprise, the Captain picked up the phone and called the MEP station in Minneapolis and got my doctor on the line. The doctor quickly assured the Captain that he had been thorough in administering the test in question. The Captain said to me â€Å"Trainee Neubauer, the paperwork and the doctor both agree that you took this test. You can admit you were lying about not taking it, or you can continue denying it and I will place a letter in your personnel file stating your refusal and deception, which will follow you throughout your career. I highly recommend you admit to taking the test.† This is the moment I found myself under extreme stress and pressured by obedience to authority to acquiesce. Picking Out the Right Topics For Essay Topics

Picking Out the Right Topics For Essay TopicsThe ability to pick out persuasive topics for essay topics is the key to having an essay that stands out. After all, nobody wants to read an essay that doesn't stand out.Persuasive essay topics are often easier to come up with than you think. Whether you choose to do a research paper or a standard academic composition, you will be faced with many different subjects. This is what makes essay writing such a challenge. The more interesting the subject, the easier it will be to write about. When you're starting out with a topic, you can choose to focus on different topics. You might start with a fact. You can find a way to explain that fact in a way that will be easy to relate to. You can also choose to write about a place or situation that you know very well. Then, when you go into detail about it, people will really be able to understand your point of view. While some people like to focus on a single fact, others like to break things down into smaller pieces. This is where an essay will take on many forms. Doing this will also help you express your feelings better and add more flavor to your words. The most important thing to remember when you are picking out the right topics for essay topics is that you need to focus on a topic that you are passionate about. If you can get that passion to run through your thoughts, then you'll be much more likely to write about it. Even if the topic is not something that is interesting to you, it will help to make you thin k about the topic. If you do not feel comfortable with the topic, it is important to leave it out altogether.Make sure that your new idea is something that you have not written about before. This is why it is so important to research your topic thoroughly. After all, you don't want to create a boring essay. Finally, when you choose to write a topic, you want to make sure that your essay stands out. You want to make it as unique as possible. While research is key to making sure that your essay is interesting, making sure that it stands out is the most important thing.

Frankenstein By Shelley Essays - Fiction, Literature,

Frankenstein By Shelley Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley is a complex novel that was written during the age of Romanticism. This gothic work has enjoyed a wide range of interest and readership for roughly 200 years. Gothic tales have certain elements in common, chief among them being certain universal themes, eerie settings, twisted creatures and a breach in the natural order. Shelly's "Frankenstein" is a perfect example of a gothic novel. In this book she explores as her main theme the development of evil in an individual when he is subject to rejection by society. She also develops two secondary themes: man's fear of death, and man's conflict between morality and science. These two themes are used to support and clarify the main theme. These themes are as relevant today as when the novel was written. The novel is first and foremost an exploration of the development of the evil in Frankenstein's monster, which is, a consequence of his rejection by society. Frankenstein created his monster from bits and pieces of human corpses, and brings it to life. Horrified by his actions, he deserts the creature to find its own way in the world. Hideous in appearance, unable to communicate, and ignorant of his condition, the creature attempts to interact with the people around him. They reject the creature with fear and cruelty, causing him to flee in hiding. The monster falls victim to the system commonly used to characterize a person by only his or her outer appearance. Whether people like it or not, society always summarizes a person's characteristics by his or her physical appearance. Society has set an unbreakable code individuals must follow to be accepted. Those who don't follow the "standard" are hated by the crowd and banned for the reason of being different. When the monster ventured into a town"....children shrieked, and ...women fainted". From that moment on he realized that people did not like his appearance and hated him because of it. The creature spends several months spying on a family living in a hut, learning to speak and read by watching them. Gradually, he becomes convinced that he needs a companion in order to be complete and goes in search of his creator. He turns to murder as a method of forcing Frankenstein to acknowledge his existence and meet his demands. When Frankenstein fails him a second time, he again resorts to blackmail and murder. In this novel, Ms. Shelly shows how the creature's attempts at interaction are met with rejection until finally the creature sees intimidation and extortion as his only recourse. The creature was not born evil, but was forced into evil acts as his only way to force acknowledgment of his existence. This theme strikes a chord among modern readers, for ours is a society, which places a high value on beauty and empowerment. Those people who are rejected as worthless by our society because they are ugly, clumsy, mentally retarded, or too different from their peers frequently use extreme actions to force acknowledgment of their existence. These acts might include arson, murder, theft, vandalism, and other senseless acts of destruction or violence. Like Frankenstein's monster, constant rejection breeds not compassion and understanding, but anger and hatred. The main theme of development of evil is supported by a secondary theme of man's fear of death. It is this fear of death and decay, which drives Frankenstein to create his monster. He believes that if he can discover the secret of life, then he can cheat death and defeat old age. The fear of death has driven mankind on many searches throughout the ages to find ways of cheating death and avoiding old age. Today, scientists and doctors create new medicines to slow the aging process and defeat diseases, which cause death. They peer further and further into the genetic code of human life in an attempt to understand why we die and to see if they can alter the course of life. We can understand why Frankenstein created his monster, even if we cannot support his cowardice in abandoning this creation. When Frankenstein abandons his monster, he opens up the theme of the conflict between morality and science. Frankenstein began his experiments with the noblest of intentions, but without thinking about what the consequences of his actions. He failed to consider that simply because something can be done, doesn't always mean that it should be done, or that the results are not always desirable. He usurped the power of God by creating life, and them compounded his error by recklessly abandoning

San Manuel Bueno, Mártir

San Manuel Bueno, Mrtir Miguel de Unamuno y Jugo was one of the first Spanish writers of the 20th century, who concentrated on the perspective of a man with his passion, desires, and hope and the world itself. This writer tried to analyze the idea of faith in the society. One of his last works was San Manuel Bueno, Mrtir, a novel that represented Unamuno’s thoughts and beliefs. This story is about a parish priest, Don Manuel Bueno, who suddenly loses his faith because of immoral modern world, and the Carballinos, a Spanish family. Angela and Lzaro Carballino, and their mother are attracted by Manuel’s ideas about faith, Christianity, and the life after death. San Manuel Bueno, Mrtir may be considered as a kind of tool used by Unamuno to reproduce his own philosophical ideas.Advertising We will write a custom report sample on San Manuel Bueno, Mrtir specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The narrator of this story is Angela Carballino. She gets her ed ucation outside the village, where her mother lives. The mother is a catholic woman, who tries to teach her daughter about the faith and love to people. In this small village with its lake and magnificent mountains, there is one priest, Don Manuel, who aims at helping people and making them happier and free. By some reasons, Angela is attracted by the village, the priest, and his ideas. One day, her brother, Lzaro, returns to the village. Lzaro is characterized by strong unbelieving in God, faith, and any religion in general. The only purpose of his arrival to the village is to take his mother and sister to the larger, progressive city. However, all his dreams are broke down after his mother’s death. There is one promise that she asks her son to do – to pray for her. Lzaro cannot but keep his promise, that makes him contact with Don Manuel. In a short period of time, Lzaro realizes that Don Manuel does not resemble any other priest he have met before. The idea that th ere is no life after death is not inherent to priests, this is what makes Don Manuel interesting to Lzaro. The main idea that Don Manuel wants to explain to Lzaro is the following: there is no life after death. However, people should not know this terrible truth, and priest’s purpose is to hide this terrible truth in order to make all people happier during their lives. Such idea attracts Lzaro a lot. He makes a decision to covert to Christianity and visit all Don Manuel’s masses in order to become his best disciple. Angela cannot comprehend how people who do not believe in the life after death may teach and help other people, and provide them with the necessary support. One of the most interesting aspects of this story is that Don Manuel does believe in God. He tells that when a person dies, he sees the God’s face, however, this person will not be admitted to the heaven, as it is promised. Another not less interesting thing about this novel is that Unamuno decid es to take the role of God in this story. He is the creator of all characters, he rules all of them and decides when and how each person should die. One of the characters, Augusto Perez, decides to commit suicide and rebel against the creator who rules everybody’s destiny. Before his death, he sees the creator, the author of this story, and gets to know that he is just a fiction character. Now, it is his time to disappear in the mist and be forgotten by the others, and nothing can be changed. Augusto’s attempt to rebel against the writer is his gross mistake, and he needs to be punished. The story ends tragically. Don Manuel has some problems with his health, which suddenly lead him to death. Lzaro, his devoted student, dies soon after him. The idea that Don Manuel scarifies his own life for other people’s happiness makes Lzaro respect and follow each step taken by his teacher. Angela is the only character, who is left. Now, her faith and all moral principles, s he has known before, was broken. She cannot understand how such a blind faith may lead to such a tragic end. She is at loss and no one can help to find the way. This Spanish philosopher and great writer, Miguel de Unamuno y Jugo, influenced considerably the development of the literature of the 20th century. His bright ideas about non-existence of the life after death and that our lives are controlled by someone else were unique for literature of those times. It is really great that there are such masterpieces, like San Manuel Bueno, Mrtir, that make the reader think about his/her own destiny and the role in this world.
